Full Version: How To Research Which Currency Likely To Be Strong Against The Gbp?

Hi,

I'm considering putting a chunk of my savings into another currency, the chunk that we won't want to spend on a house and is for unforeseen circumstances only; I certainly don't expect to need it in a real hurry.

Where do I start the research into figuring out for myself what's likely to get stronger against the GBP? Options also welcome, the CHF feels like a good bet but that's based on nothing more than hunch.

For a bonus question we've got a Citibank account where we can save in differing currencies, we currently can save in Swiss Francs, GPB or Dollars, however the interest rate for the foreign stuff is pants. Any recommendations for accounts that pay a good rate of interest on foreign currency?

Thanks in advance.

Ok, so I see this thread on the main board but not much discussion on *why* one currency might be better than another at the moment. That's the sort of research I want to do but am unsure what metrics I need to me looking at.
