Hi

If HBOS go down I assume all its subsidiaries go down with it?

I am thinking specifically of Birmingham Midshires - where I have over the £35k! sad.gif

Many thanks for any advice.

Yes I imagine they would all go down. Having anything over 35K is very risky. Although if HBOS did go down it would be such a disaster I'd find it difficult to imagine that it could be baled out by the government.

Also remember not to have debts/mortgages and savings with the same institution.

Fear not. An unending stream of tax payers money is poised to save you.

Hmmm also what happens with regards to Cash ISA's, I haven't quite got the £35k but not far off. My concern is losing the ISA allowance or would this be reinstated. I'm sure that Laura is right ref tax payers bailing out which is why I havent bailed out yet ... starting to think may be I should though!
