Just wondering if anyone could give me some advice.
I bought a three bed semi 4 years ago for 110k but I'm looking to move into a detached property in the Barton / Irlam area. My neighbour who is currently renting next doors semi said he'd offer me 150k if I decided to move. I am now thinking of accepting his offer and renting in the same area until prices fall a further 20%-30%. If prices fall that much I may be in a decent position to grab a bargain and I avoid being in a chain. Furthermore, I'll be outside the Manchester congestion charge zone so hopefully houses in the area will be in demand for people who use the M60 or M6 once the charge kicks in.
What do you think? Will the congestion charge have a big impact on house prices in the area? In the current climate, is it a good idea to sell, make a bit of proft and then buy again in perhaps 9-12 months time?
