I don't mean this in a gloating way, and neither do I mean that it doesn't have plenty of merit as a vehicle for discussing the dynamics of what's now playing out all around us, but somehow this site doesn't generate the same feelings for me that it once did.

I've always been a lurker but a year and more ago this site felt like a place where like-minded people could bounce about their ideas for how, when and indeed if, the HPC would happen but for me at least, deep down, there was always an inkling of doubt that I was reluctant to allow myself to admit to. Now that the element of doubt, however small it was, has been truly obliterated, I don't feel the same need to reaffirm my belief and hope that HPC is on the way.

I'm sure for some of our more articulate members there is an interesting article to be written about the evolution of this site from a shared belief/aspiration to a no-holds-barred reportage of the unfloding HPC.

Not sure what point I'm trying to make really, and apologies for stealing 2 minutes of your life that you'll never get back, but I'm interested to know from a social perspective if the burgeoning HPC has evoked similar feelings towards this site for anyone else.
