With the news coverage getting worse and more alarmist on the chaos about to strike us, it seems credit crunch mania is now hitting home with everyone.....sitting there on the train on way to work, people complaining about rising this, cant afford that etc
So, products and sectors that will boom/continue to push ahead regardless of the downturn? What are your thoughts on who will benefit?
Mine are:
Car Insurance
Home insurance
Utilitie companies
Pre-pay/payg mobiles
Pre-pay cards
Debt management IVA practitioners
Divorce lawyers

the banks. (Which is sad considering this mess is mainly their fault.)
the conservatives
day time tv shows. (higher viewing figures)
large employers who can pay new desperate staff appalling wages.
supermarkets (people still gotta eat)
pharmaceuticals (same reason)
cheap entertainment providers (dvd shops, pizza takeaways etc.)

Smug FTBs with jobs - until they lose their jobs, or buy a house themselves, and then use this website to complain when house prices continue to fall.
BTL landlords with cash or low LTVs - they must be looking at the falling prices and enjoying the rising yields; they've seen nothing but falling yields since at least the year 2000. Soon it will be a good time to be picking up distress sales from other BTL landlords, reposessions and people who are downsizing or switching to rent-to-buy.
Developers and housebuilders ditto, provided they can keep their cashflow running and are prepared for the two-year agony called getting planning permission.
