Anybody had a similar letter from fhios, a market research company?
'we have been provided your contact details by Halifax bank...fhios has been contracted to conduct some research..to help improve their website.[Can I get online quicker please when I want to rescue my cash laugh.gif ].....Everyone who participates will receive £50...lasts no more than 2 hours'
Thought it was a scam at first, but seems legit and £25/ hour is good money up north, tempted to reply. smile.gif
Then I thought maybe they will lock me in an office and try to sell me 'investment products' or constanty pester me with phone calls for the rest of my life.
Any other forum members had experience of this?

I've done a couple of market research thingys before. They're good if you're time rich and cash poor - and there were no strings attached for the ones I did. Cash in hand (fully declared to HMRC of course) and you just need to answer questions for a couple of hours.

Did you go?

Standard stuff and a bit low as an incentive for that amount of time - still, is up North as you say :-)

You can always check out the inviting company with the MRS, Market Research Society

Edited to add: they won't put you on a sales database on the back of this, genuine market research is very tough on data protection and confidentiality

You both sounds like arrogant tw*ts saying that £25 per hour is not a lot of money. For a lot of people that is more than they will ever make, per hour, in their lifetime. Try to be a little bit sensitive.

Take it easy! It's not just £25 quid an hour. It's travel time and fares/petrol to and back, it's childcare if you've got kids that you can't pick up from school, it's an evening taken up in what perhaps is a very busy life. Believe me, I've worked in this field and a lot of people won't do a focus group for £50 quid, however much or little they earn, even in the North wink.gif
