I understand that the stock market collapsed by 90% in the 1930's, and it took until the 1950's for the DOW to rise to the pre-crash level.
Were there any investors who held cash into the crash, bought in at the bottom, and increased their investment by 1000% over that period?

Just wondering. What were their attitudes at the times - did they see the crash coming?

Joe Kennedy (father of JFK and RFK) famously sold all his holdings before the crash and bought them back at a much reduced price.

Is that the kind of thing you mean?
