The title of this thread is *very* interesting - because I believe it to be true - anecdotally... allowing for outliers.
However, and this is *very* important - the BoE is adamant that it is 200% rise over 10 years.
The only explanation I can see is that there is a massive gulf between even the market and accounted value of our homes... or, in other words, debt is already 1/3rd greater than equity.
That is a worrying possibility.
