I have been looking online for a quote for Accident, Sickness and Unemployment (ASU) cover.

For a premium of £50.00 per month I can receive £1,000.00 per month as soon as I register as unemployed. This payout would last for 12 months of unemployment. £1k a month isn't much but combined with my savings I could keep my head above water for quite a while.

While I foresee no immediate prospect of unemployment, there is definitely something "in the wind" that makes me feel next year may be different.

Does anybody out there know if this premium seems reasonable? Do you know any companies worth considering for a quote.

As a matter of interest, this premium seems higher that when I first looked around about six months ago.
