Indeed. I'll have to look out for something similar although I've always maintained that the Sheffield area is legging other parts of the country.

Can't find those houses on the Morris Dibben website.

In fairness it looks like a recently completed new build project to me.

Although from following threads on the forum about Southampton (with it's higher than average rate of repossession actions) the outlook doesn't look that good.

I may have been away from the uk for a bit, but do all new houses have the security fencing? are things that bad? lol

Well, unless there is security on the site, the likelyhood is if there wasn't, any white goods, sinks, fireplaces and justabout anything else vaguely removeable will be stripped in the dead of night.....

Those are some crazy pictures. Really hits home.

Its appalling that to buy a 50% share of that flat, you have to be earning a minimum of £18k! sad.gif

If I was the EAs boss I would sack whoever erected all those signs. They should have released these homes in "phases" doh

I think part of the blame may be with the developer in situations such as this.. In a rising market, the developer/EA maybe didnt want to contract buyers as they reckoned they would be able to sell the units for a higher price a month or two further into the building works. As the market then turned sharply they have been wrong-footed as buyers have dissappeared.. This has happened in Northern Ireland.

Can anyone think of any good house price crash photo subjects other than lots of boards?

Empty EA offices?

Repossessed people?

etc

our local branch of "your move" went tits up a couple of weeks ago - anyway the sign men came along to remove the sign and found this gem underneath - genuine 1980s EA signange - Old School Baby - Like history repeating itself

Hi IanBeale

I'll do it for you

Hey - that is also funny because this is a branch of Austin & Wyatt that also closed down in Chanders Ford

Underneath the sign is an old Fox & Son shadow

Are they trying to tell us something about the state of the housing market ?

Maybe I need to keep in touch with what is going on out there

In spite of the much talked about 'credit crunch' - I hate that phrase, there are dozens of new developments that are going ahead in my local area. In order to show my disaproval of this I intend to plaster the house price crash logo all over these sites. I expect I will be arrested at some stage. I will endeavour to post some photos of my exploits on here. In the meantime I would greatly appreciate some ideas for funny remarks I could print under the logo.

Many thanks

Has anyone got pics from the flats for sale in York....where poplar court is...just along from the shell garage on Hull road...there MUST be 30+ boards within ten yards of each other? Will be classic IMHO

Storm clouds gather over new build flats - really, look:

I go past these regularly. I saw them go up and week by week I've seen the increasingly desperate marketing banners draped across the front: "Now accepting reservations". "Last few remaining". "Ask about our special incentives". "Ideal buy-to-let opportunity".

The latest says "only 4 remaining". I'm not sure if that includes flat 3. It has an auction notice posted outside!

The first photo in this thread needs updating. It looks almost the same as before, but now all the signs say "To Let". There are still for sale signs around the side of the property. Could someone local go and take a look please, I don't pass down that way very often.
MattW

Some brave investor wants to rent out these new properties. The rest of the site to the left of the picture looks pretty much unfinished.

Too late to invest? Or will it eventually pay off with many sellers movinginto rented property?

EA's are so despondent with the current housing market.

There is no point in filling in the property description, as the place is not going to sell anyway.

Some local authorities have been more effective than others at dealing with board littering. Where the LA takes decisive and even handed action to curb or even ban boards most agents welcome their actions.

The problem is that enforcement is piecemeal. This therefore creates an uneven playing field as boards are an effective way of generating business.

There are many more aestetically less intrusive media available. Time for a UK wide ban on boards.

Not sure what this means, a property down my street was being renovated slowly over a period of 2 years then stopped mid way (presumably ran out of money). Now its on sale unfinnished, and even stanger its also to let? To let? Theres no water supply connected yet and there a big gaping hole at the front with pipes sticking out the ground.

How about "I'm a saddo with too much time on my hands".

I think you're more likely to be ignored than arrested, since your opinion is of little interest to the majority.

This billboard sign is on my way to work, here in Brisbane Australia.
It is a sign of the attitude that caused this whole mess.
Everyone can be rich and everyone deserves to live like a King.
