Does anyone have any idea of how to get exposure to the soft food commodities via a UK fund, I’ve searched Hargreaves Lansdown and Interactive Investor but can't find anything along those lines.

Any ideas? Preferably something ISA/Sipps compatible.

Thanks for the response, I am aware you can use ETF's to track the prices, but I was after a fund which had coverage of several different types of commodities to stick in a SIPP.

I may just buy a commodity index linked ETF for an ISA though.

If you actually look at the ETCs available, you'll see several broad sector funds, such as AIGA, AIGC, AIGG. You can lead a horse to water...

ah, I had actually looked at AIGA earlier today. Sorry, but its still all a bit new and confusing to me.

Cheers for your help.

Have a look at some of the ETF funds operated by ETFSL.

ETF Securities Ltd.. They have broad agricultural, as well as general softs and individual crops. There's a full list and detailed description of each fund on the web site. All are ISA/SIPP compatible.

Thanks again, just reading the FAQ's, and I notice they are not subject to stamp duty, is there any point of using them in an ISA/sipp then? as surely there is no tax to be paid?

Eclectica is the one you want. Buy it and forget about it for 10 years.

Is this the fund you mean?

The top level breakdown doesn't indicate significant exposure to soft commodities? Any more info you can share?

And your reasons?

The Eclectia fund is mostly invested in equities of argricultural producers/suppliers in contrast to the MFM fund not the actuall commodities/futures or did I miss something ? sad.gif .

Thats the wrong fund you want Eclectia Agriculture fund.

For me it is way too volatile. I prefer the direct commodity mix (metals plus agri) in MFM IFunds commodity fund.

Thanks for the clarification.

Does anyone else find the 1.75% management fee a bit steep, considering they are basically just a basket of ETF's? Would it not be better to invest directly in a similar basket of ETF's via a self-select ISA or stock trading account?

Perhaps I'm missing something here - please let me know if so!
