Hi All,

Was thinking of investing overseas for either an investment property or a second home.

White beaches seem like a fantastic idea and wondered if someone can share their experiences/views on where to invest ... was looking at Brazil - seems a little cheap yet but not sure whether a good place and where..

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks

I gave a lot of thought to a white sand Brazil plot but decided against as there was no guarantee one would ever persuade the local officials to connect roads, sewers, electricity or water.

Why bother I concluded when Morocco was just a 3 hour flight and where many new fabolous resorts are due to open around 2010.

It would appear that with hindsight when you decided upon Morocco in favour of Brazil you went for the wrong option.
I bought a 3 bed property in Porto Dos Corais Maracajau in Jan of last year for 93,000 Euros and assigned the contract 2 weeks ago for 122,000 Euros.
Not a vast profit admitedly but certainly better than i would have been able to achieve had i pressed ahead with the reservation deposit i placed on an apartment on Med Saidia.
I am not sure if this is typical as there do not appear to be many resales to compare,so i can only relate my own experience.

Hi there,
well honestly both Brazil and Morocco are beautiful resorts, but my point is, everytime you want to reach those countries u need to go on holiday at least for 1 week, while buying a property on a beach resort in Europe would allow you to go even for short breaks. Also very true that Brazil and Morocco are great but I can advice certain area in Italy that as beautiful as those places. Also we need to take into consideration the lifestyle, health problems that you could have in those countries, crime etc etc... problems that honestly I would take into consideration if I need to buy a property.
I am italian and if you want I can advice you some very nice places where the beach is beautiful and well serviced, with bars, restaurants, clubs and the property market is still affordable. I live in England but recently I bought my beach property in a place called Vasto Marina (Abruzzo) I get there in two hrs from London with a low cost flight, the place is stunning, lifestyle great, food is great, people are so friendly and the weather is good from February till November. When I am not there I easily rent it out to both italians and english that want to go on holiday because the area is a well know summer resort.
if you need anymore help dont hesitate to ask
take care
