My son has some money invested in Icesave...no more than 35000 of course (FSA rules and all that) but I am wondering (on his behalf) just how safe ICESAVE is in relation to the recent turmoil on the SM.

How exposed is this bank?

any answers most appreciated

Chill out mate. The last bank to go bust was BCC! in about 1992. These days, I dont think the industry would allow a bank to go bust anyway - it would just get taken over.

Yes, banks are very safe. As safe as houses.

After all there's plenty of surplus liquidity sloshing around in the M&As market right now... wink.gif

Banks are much safer than houses, if you default they take your house. wink.gif

Banks are like bridges, they seldom crash bet when they do they make a big splash!

I think they're more like rabbits' feet: they're more use to rabbits than to people, but some folks keep one on their keyrings 'for luck'...

Sorry, what were we talking about again?
