As I dont think the property market is not going fall to an affordable level for a few years.

So in the meantime I was thinking of putting some my money into a
Structure Note(Fund) through an investment bank,
I would get a staff discount as I work for them..

There are number of levels of risk one with Principal protection so that should be
worth a shot.
