Hi!

I'm a newbie to property investment, am thinking of investing in property portfolios in the UK. Does anyone here know what's the min. funds required to make an investment nowadays ?

And how do you go about searching for the most reliable investment company? or Does any of you here do it through arrangements with high street banks whom you're banking with?

I am a private investor and worried that it might cost a bit on the commission/performance fee.

If you're a bear (as it says in your profile), why would you want to invest in what you believe to be a falling market?

it doesnt mean im a bear just because it says there. It could be a finger slip on the mouse too.

I think you're talking about REITs? I have no idea myself and wouldn't touch them with a bargepole as the yields are so crappy and I don't fancy their prospects for capital appreciation, but the normal minimum investment in a fund is £1000 lump sum or £50 monthly.

Expect to pay a 5% initial charge and around a 2% annual fee to the fund manager's bollinger fund. But if you're so confident that the property market will continue to rise why not put your money where your mouth is, do some research and buy shares in a company that's involved in property directly?
