Im in the process of considering dissertation subjects (property based). I think I'll stay away from land economics and residential volitility, due to my partizan line of thinking in this regard. I think that REITS are an interesting and expanding sector, and as such, am researching relevant info.

I would like to use this stage, to garner any opinions or thoughts, or perhaps intiate a discussion of this area. My reasoning is obvious...we have an abundance of insightful posters and original thinkers to draw upon. Many market commentators (VI's) see REITS as a watershed in prop investment. There's a lot of excess capital sloshing around at the moment, lots of hedge funds and instiituitional investors looking to store their wealth...but with the carry trade problems on the horizon I can see things getting messy. What effect do you think REIT's will have on the UK property market (commercial/resi) and its structure?
