Hi All,

I have been given this link by my guy at Superior, to a video of their last site visit (4 weeks ago) to Saidia, that has been posted on a website. It shows Magnum, V-1 villas, AP1, Oasis site, AP6, AP4, AP5, V2, the Barcelo Hotel, the Marina and the commercial centre.

If anyone wants to watch it, just click the link below.

Saidia Video

Thanks Rump.

Parts remind me of the opening sequences of Terminator 2! Its sometimes hard to imagine the finished product.
Im not familiar with AP properties - presumably the lower end Fadesa stock.

If anyone else is planning a video can I recommend you hold the thing near your stomatch and cradle the camera from underneath as this reduces hand shake! Also spend more time of the marina and shopping centres etc as it is these types of facility that give Saidia its USP, the residential property is nothing out of the ordinary.

LOL,

Funnily enough, someone mentioned to me on another forum, that all that seems to be missing is Kate Adie, as it looks like a war zone.

Dogbox, at least Biglog/Taraca/Catara, cant complain that you havent seen the site anymore!! laugh.gif

From what I gather, the AP apartments are at the lower end of the Saidia property scale, especially AP2, as there seems to be loads of apartments going in there.

I thought the Barcelo Hotel is looking good, and obviously the marina is coming along nicely, but I thought the commercial centre would be farther along than it is. Oh well, good things come to those who wait wink.gif

The Superior office in a tent should really convince those who think we're mad that they are absolutely correct!
Loads of progress since last May though.

I think the video has high-lighted the enormity of Saidia. It is going to be a holiday city rather than a pleasant relaxing resort. No strolls down to the beach, down to the marina or to the shops. Instead you will end up taking car journeys to many of the attractions/facilities.

I know it is difficult to see the finished product, and when the golf courses are in and established it will have a different feel to it. However i can't help but think, only the masses will want to take their holiday in a place like this because of the facilities and climate, but sadly not the well heeled. I think the yachting fraternity will give this place a wide berth, as I fail to see how it can have a relaxing holiday atmosphere with up to 10,000 people crowding the resort at anyone time. I think the marina will be empty much of the time. Therefore, I don't think that it will attract the premium clientele or premium rental returns that others have thought likely. I think the premium villas on sale at £200k+ now look a very run of the mill investment.

But then again, who knows, I could be wrong (I have been plenty of times before), I just know i wouldn't fork out to go on a holiday to a place like that! I think i am going to focus on smaller developments as a result of seeing this video. Possibly paradise beach and golf looks a better bet.

It looks better that I expected. I like the lack the huge buildings.

It can be a nice place afterall. I would have liked to see in the video the beach and surroundings.

I understand there will be trolly buses, golf carts and cycle paths for getting around.

For someone like me this is a pure investment (although I will use it) and in that regard it suits well - the year round high grade Centreparcs positioning, on - site health facilities and multiple on - site agents help plus 24/7 multiple hotel marketing machinery underpin the investment proposition.

I think the wealthy yatching fraternity will be attracted by the state of the art marina - the facilities for boats are world class. Many arabic boaters currently use Puerto Banus and othe rmarinas - Saidia represents a nice secure well proportioned alternative just a hop across the Med'.

Keep in mind some of the property is very high spec and will be very much set apart from the lower end property blocks so wealthy people will still find what theyre looking for.

My personal taste believe it or not is for small quiet developments in natural surroundings!

I can see both sides to this and wrestled with it while pondering a purchase. We all want to have lots of great facilities BUT it takes a lot of beds for holidaymakers to justify having them and therefore it is difficult to walk to everything. There's always the relaxing walks round the golf course. On a different note, I think the hotel customers will play golf, see the villas on site and provide a very healthy secondary market for owners.

Yes exactly what Ive always felt, but not able to put as succinctly as you just have!
Spanish or Portugese high facility developments often boast about single hotel on - site to help boost rentals.
As Ive said from the beginning Saidia seems to be unique in having up to 11 on - site hotels which is why Ive always been so excited about the potential rental market for the relatively low numbers of villas.

As any store owner knows, footfall is vital.

I think the video has highlighted the enormity of your folly.

I hope you remembered to thank your "guy" for the warning.

Almost all the properties in the videa are Fadesa Phase 1 build. Remember that AP blocks are not geared to tourism. They are more tightly packed with apartments than the RTs and have less facilities.

I see the Fadesa villas at the far West of the site (near Magnum) have their own boundary walls. They are only a foot high, but that's better than nothing. (Originally there wasn't going to be any separation of gardens.)

Hi Atlantiss,

Have you been on the saidia.forumup.co.uk website? Popcorn is the moderator on that site and is the one who runs the owners list.

If you join that forum you will be able to send her a PM. If you cannot manage to join for any reason, come back on here and post and either Popcorn or myself will help you.

Kind regards
