My name is Des and I considering purchasing a 1 bed appartment in West Berlin as a long term investment. From searching the internet I see that there are several large companies offering appartments with up to 10 years rent guarenteed, and 'free' managment/maintainence.

I was wondering if anyone has had experience with the likes of MRI and IPP or had any opinion/insight on this type of investment.

Any assistance would be gretaly appreciated.

Definitely potential in Berlin but not convinced you should trust MRI and am not convinced of the 10 year guarantees they talk up so much. I am also uncertain about the legal services offered by their affiliates and am currently seeking advice from an expert with regard to same. Will let you know when I've found out more.

cheers for the input - yes taht was the conslusion that I was coming to. The security of rent is a big bonus, but I expext customer aftercare to be zero. Can anyone recommend any agents that have found to be reputable and helpful?

We have heard of MRI methods directly from customers here in Berlin and we are "not amused" either.
