For obvious(?) reasons I don't want to buy a BTL in the UK, but would like to get one in Krakow (or perhaps Katowice), Poland.
Does anyone have any experience in buying in Krakow? Not in terms of legalities, but more in terms of good bad area's, buying off plan, and good companies/websites? Ideally, I would do it half cash, and half secured on other assets (either here on in Poland), depending on the price.
Would rather buy an older apartment rather than off plan, but some of the off-plan ones do look nice.
Hi,
I have experience of Krakow but only off plan; which unfortunatley does inflate the price somewhat. If you want to buy in the centre you can expect to spend anywhere up to pln15,000 per m2, which is close to £2500 per square metre!! Try looking further out where you can pick up nice, bright new developments for pln6,000 per m2 or £1000 per m2. Try Wola Duchacka or Debniki.
Krakow is a very young city with plenty of students and young professionals, direct your rental towards this. There are many large companies now set up in Krakow such as Motorola and Deutsche Bank meaning higher wages and job security for your rental market.
Good luck,
