My wife is keen to buy in Lisbon b2let ,any ideas

my wife is Portuguese so this is something i have considered. 2 things make me slightly uneasy - first is the rise in prices over the last few years - flats that were selling for 80k euros 3 years ago are now 250k. i just don't see how this is consistent with the economic situation in the country. second, with BTL i would be very careful and get very solid legal advice about the rights of the tennant after they have resided in the property for a year - it used to be the case that you could not evict someone. i don't know what the situation is now but it needs checking.

what never ceases to amaze me about Lisbon is that there are all these characterful run-down building near the centre of the city but all the locals live in really shitty new build blocks on the outskirts....
