Is it possible yet to invest in REITs based on German property? If not does anyone know when they are likely to be introduced?

It should be possible wef 1st. January 2007, but I can't find anything on the web as yet.
A solicitor at a recent show told me he thinks providers are holding back till January, because of what the Chancellor did to residential investment property last December. mad.gif

If anyone knows of anyone who's in the German/Berlin residential REIT's or Property Unit Trust market, please let us know.

Thanks,

The German cabinet has excluded almost all residential property from REITs because they’re worried about investors inflating rental rates and so people are actually questioning how attractive they’ll be when they come into effect anyway…in addition to this, I read on CityWire that there’s apparently still industry confusion about whether or not the government will insist that buildings sold to real estate investment trusts contain at least 50% commercial floor space?
