I have been thinking of starting an index tracker for some time now. I have been looking around for the cheapest and best place to get one. I have checked it out with my local bank and have been searching online as well and I was wondering whats the best youv seen out there??

Fidelity have one at 0.1% (0.3% if you include all the charges) http://www.fidelity.co.uk/direct/select/fi.../mtlanding.html

FTSE Allshare is almost identical to FTSE100 tracker. I suggest you put half in a FTSE250 tracker (the 101 to 351th biggest companies) as for years the FTSE250 has been outperforming the FTSE100 by a big margin.

Also consider putting a bit (say 20%) in a European tracker.
