I read on the main discussion forum how you were withdrawing from this site in revulsion at anti-American diatribe following Hurricane Katrina. Let us hope your absence will not be enduring. On these investment pages at least there is generally a refreshing absence of bickering and small-minded bigotry.

Personally, I no longer bother with the main discussion forum as there is not really anything more to be said on the subject. The big issues are here in the investment discussion, where we can exchange views on gold, currencies, stocks etc. The main problem is that there is not enough participation, so your absence doesn't help!

And I didnt quit when I found most of you were anti [british] women.

I have been away and have not seen the anti-american comments.
I am sad to see Dr Bubb leave, but to say he is staying away just because of some comments is a little petty.

I hate Americans, not specific ones just their Foreign policy and cultural attitudes

Dr Bubb is a valued member of this site but his response to comments made about his fellow countrymen is stupid,
many groups get discussed here and knocked, but what makes him so special?

Painting all HPCers with the actions of some individuals is the same mistake they were making about Americans, by the sound of it.

IMHO, everyone is entitled to their opinions no matter how accurate or delusional. And people with delusional opinions are eventually slapped back into line by reality.

Seriously, some of us had the same frustrations as you about particular people's comments and opinions (don't want to go into details). At the end of the day (or week(s)) we all came back, because we like this forum so much and (most of) its contributors.
