Thought it was worth starting a new thread on this subject. I'm not a particularly wealthy individual, but have invested a small sum (though quite large in terms of my own resources) in an ethical investment.

I'd be interested to view people's comment on the ethics of investment, taking a profit, dumping falling stocks, celebrating redundancies with rising share values, etc, etc.

Is there a truly ethical way of investing, or is this a wasted goal? Taking profit, is, after all, increasing one person's wealth over someone else's, and many rising equity values often reflect a company willing to exploit or reserve resources around it, be that the environment, local population, fuel, etc, etc.

Are ethical investment funds just an easy way of letting investors sleep easier at night?

How do I know that my profit hasn't been made off the back of someone more deserving of resources than myself?
