Full Version: Land Banking - Frightening

My husband and I are currently overseas for a few years (Dubai) and we nearly bought one of those land plot deals.

We were quite excited until we did some research.

The company that we nearly paid a lot of money to (try about six months of our combined salaries!!) was European Land Sales or ELS. We found a site on the man behind it - Stephen Cleeve. www.stephencleeve.com

This is terrifying. We couldn't believe what we were reading nor how close we came nor how this can be allowed to go on.

Is any of this land bank stuff for real?

Sincere regards

Rebecca (and husband, who I now call Told-you-so Tony!)

Hi Rebecca

I recently joined a land banking firm here in Asia and thus I think I can shed some light to you questions and query.

Honestlly speaking, Land Banking is a very interesting product and if carried out right, can be very profitable. The only problem is, as with many other lucrative investments products in the market, there are a lot of frauds and ill concieved plans out there. However, this does not do away with the potential of the product itself. You just have to pick the right one.

Like I said at the beginning, I am with a land bank company now so in order not to have a conflict of interest, I will not say whom I am with. I have always been a skeptic myself but after hearing what this company had to offer and how their plans are, together with some research of my own, I am now a convert. Bottom line is, do your own reserach. There are several ways land banking can be done and there is no hard and fast rule which one works best for you but, the very first question you should be asking, I think, is not how much money will you make but how much and what is the possiblilties of you loosing money instead. That way, even in the worst case scenerio, even if you do not make money, you would not lose as well.

Hope this is useful.

Best Regards
