What is the best way to buy gold?
Physical or through a company?
Where would i buy gold (physically) or any good companies?
What price should we be looking for.
i see Dr Bubb says it is priced too high?

I just set up an account with goldmoney.com. Problem is you have to pay by CHAPS which costs £20 a throw. I was planning on buying around £500 a month but at £20 a pop this doesn't really work out.
How does anyone else buy from goldmoney? Also I'd be interested in what is a comparitively good price to be buying at.

You don't need to pay by CHAPS.
You can pay by BACS (ordinary free bank transfer) if you have a UK bank account - Jersey is integrated in the UK bank clearing system.
If you have an account with Barclays Goldmoney see the payment on the same day and credit gold to your account on the next day.
Good luck!

I bought 7k (no initial fee) of Merrill Lynch Gold and General Unit Trust on 25 April 2005 it's now valued at £7846 when I checked on the Fidelity website today.
That rate of return makes stockpicking a waste of time.
I'll post a link if anyone's interested.

http://www.fidelity.co.uk/stream.html?start=newHope this works. Fidelity offer their own funds plus they operate a fund supermarket for other providers products giving a discount to direct purchasers who are not using the services of an FA/Product Salesman.
There is a fund finder search engine on the site. You are looking for Merrill Lynch Gold and General Acc.
It's done very well for me these last couple of months but given my chequered (checkered?)investment record to date you should DYOR

I bought the same fund, through my smile bank account and their funds supermarket (which will route you to fidelity). the whole transaction went painless and all online. bought it even as a fund and share isa so won't have to pay tax on it, if it goes up, which it did so far
