I think there are a few watching the CLS area so I thought it may be good to have a topic seperate from the mega Newcastle thread.

I've got a couple of Rightmove searches for the area using PropertyBee to track changes.

Can kick this off with a laugh at JW Wood with this:

date event
Friday, 25 July 2008 2:08:15 AM

* Price changed: from 'Offers in Region of £125,000' to 'Offers in Region of £139,950'

Wednesday, 30 April 2008 4:56:42 AM

* Price changed: from 'Offers in Region of £119,950' to 'Offers in Region of £125,000'

I intend to email him the bad news - "prices are falling"

I was just looking on Nestoria ( does anyone else use this?) and it reckons in the Bishop Auckland area prices are still rising.

Not seen Nestoria before. Just had a look there but not sure how you see price trends?

They are dropping alright. Using PropertyBee makes it transparent. A couple of good ones below from Rickleton:

Saturday, 26 July 2008 10:00:43 PM

* Price changed: from 'Offers in Region of £164,950' to '£130,000'

Thursday, 24 July 2008 7:10:45 PM

* Price changed: from 'Offers in Excess of £149,000' to '£130,000'

Saturday, 24 May 2008 2:35:28 AM

* Price changed: from 'Offers in Excess of £157,000' to 'Offers in Excess of £149,000'

Drops of around 20% :)

Not much chance of that short of a nuclear holocaust.

I bought 3 bed semi for 10k in '76. I was second owner - first one paid 200 quid back in '36.
It still doubled in price in 5 years when I sold it.

As this site has made clear though they've never been higher versus income so a long way to go yet

I presume you don't still have the Chilton house, so must have sold for a profit?

I think I sold it for about 23K many years ago.
I have a feeling we will see sub 20K properties in these locations again.
