P.P. Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 Hi my name is Nick Nack and I was an all-round personal assistant to Francisco Scaramanga, acting as butler, housekeeper, and chef (trained at Le Cordon Bleu), as well as a henchman to Scaramanga's criminal activities. After my master's defeat and death, I tried to kill James Bond and Goodnight but after a short fight, Bond stuffed me into a suitcase and locked me in a wooden cage. Although I was very loyal to Scaramanga, at times I would hire other assassins to kill Scaramanga . Scaramanga tolerated this as a means to practice his skills, but I was also the sole heir to Scaramanga's estate; if the assassin had succeeded, then I would have inherited everything. After Scaramanga's demise, I was captured by Bond; though I later escaped and my current status is unknown to MI6. However, I did appear in the 1990s animated spin-off, James Bond Jr as a member of the SCUM organisation and partner-in-crime of fellow henchman Jaws. a pic of me yesterday - Quote

Vespasian Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Hi, my name is Vespasian (Titus Flavius Vespasianus) I was born near Rome in AD 9 to a middle class family. I joined the army at an early age and did well, rising to command the Second Legion (Augusta) during the invasion of Britain in 43 AD. I conquered much of southern England over the next year or two, from Hampshire to Cornwall, earning a triumph on return to Rome. Then a governorship in Africa beckoned. Unfortunately, during one of the young Emperor Nero's performances on the Lyre, I fell asleep and fell from political favour (I was lucky to survive, IMHO ). I went back home and ran a mule haulier business for several years. Fortunately for myself and my career, there was a large uprising in Judea in AD 65. Due to my extensive military experience Nero was forced to appoint me as commander of the eastern legions to quell the uprising. After several years of fighting the uprising was virtually quelled by AD 68 That madman Nero (the guy had even murdered his mum! ) committed suicide on 9th June 68 after years of mismanagement, leading to civil war. There were several pretenders to the Imperial throne and after some encouragement from family and colleagues, I made my bid for power. I left my son Titus in charge in Judea, and took an army to Egypt to secure the grain supply for the Empire. These bold moves encouraged more Legions to declare for me. I sent another army to march on Rome from the northeast and seize the capital. The Senate declared me Emperor in December 69. I spent the next ten years restoring public finances including a tax on urine collection (no, I'm not taking the piss! ), a public building programme, consolidating the Empire (including extending the Empire to the Scottish border). I repealed some of the harsher laws and survived the odd assassination attempt! I also initiated the building of the Flavian amphitheatre (commonly known as the Colosseum) Alas, on June 23, AD 79, I died of dysentery. On my deathbed I uttered "Vae, puto, deus fio" ("Dammit - I think I'm becoming a god"). Of course, I was deified by the Senate shortly afterwards. My son, Titus became the new Emperor Here's a nice picture of me Quote

Mr Mephisto Posted February 1, 2008 Posted February 1, 2008 Hi Subby, welcome back. Sorry for outing you as an estate agent on the main thread – I apologise. I saw your photo on your “Who Are You” thread. I think it was brave if not slightly naïve of you to place your photo in the public realm. I suspect that there are several contributors that regularly post on the forum who are involved in aspects of the property / financial services industry and value their anonymity – they do not want to be identified and leave little clue to what they do or who they are, There are undoubtedly many guests and anonymous users who watch from the sidelines and do not contribute. God knows who they are and what masters or agendas they serve. I’m not trying to spook you or state the bleeding obvious. I’m entirely new to the blogging game myself and I have found the whole experience slightly threatening. There is no real logic to this as it the whole thing is anonymous (unless you post your real name, profession and photo!). However I do think it does take guts to post personally held views and to receive criticism which can be quite stinging (witness some of the Belfast Boy vs MD23040 bouts). I’m learning the ropes and etiquette at the moment and accepting criticism on my lack of paragraphs and quoting myself through several threads. I have enjoyed the discussions and I feel that I’m learning a bit. I think that you have started a good comedy thread on this one – PP’s is a cracker Keep posting mate. Quote
