Adam "MCA" Yauch's untimely death has really shaken and saddened me. The Beastie Boys were the soundtrack of my uni years, and I never expected them to be providing the soundtrack to my middle age!

47 is no age, not much older than me - perhaps why news of his passing has given me such a jolt.

He packed a lot into his all too short life, as well as the music, he did a lot of work for the Free Tibet campaign. A real loss.
