Same amount of work could be done with 5K. Didn't she follow the guidance on Homes Under The Hammer?

I'm thinking of getting a gold outside toilet.

I look forward to hearing all about it in your Daily Mail article.

When you right the article, remember to state that the toilet has increased the value of the house by a factor of 3.

Oh yes, and the piece de resistance, you need to announce that the house has now been let.

Right on the main road.
Not the nicest of areas, but hey, if the neighbours are jealous that's all that matters, right?

This is what I never understand. The house seems to gain value because it is 'in Richmond', but this is about as far away from the lifestyle you'd get on Richmond Hill or by the river as possible.

People would be far better to move out to Sutton or Epsom and buy a good house on one of the best roads for the same amount of money rather than living 'in Richmond' on a dual carriageway opposite a petrol station.

Each to their own I guess.

No wonder the neighbours are jealous -- they live in a petrol station.

200k spent - absolutely bonkers....5 grand would get them a decent shrink to help with her enormous inferiority complex...
In theory there is little difference between theory and practice. In practice there is.

This woman is either mentally ill, or the Daily Mail is making her appear to be mentally ill.

Or she reads the Daily Mail and it's made her mentally ill.
Beware - if I agree with you we might both be wrong. Or maybe I'm just being sarcastic.

They may consider they have the best house on the road, but location-wise it sides onto a dual carriageway and is exposed to noise having roads and pavements on two boundaries. Up North this would be a hard one to shift, actually nearly impossible in a slow market, and might be the worst located house on the road. But maybe people overlook these problems in areas like Richmond.
