50,000 pages? Why would you need 50,000 pages? A couple of months for anyone to read it?

They are trying to release it in just electronic format, then I suppose any govt official that needs to read it can put an Ipad on expenses.

Just call me an old sceptic, but the only reason for a 50,000 page report is to bury information. My gut instinct is that there will be lots of negative data in the report, but it will be in its raw and uninterpreted form so as to render it useless to all intents and purposes.

What is the point of a 50,000 page report. Who is going to read it and digest it all? No doubt 100s of people will have been paid to write something that will never be read.

Assuming single sided pages at 5 minutes per page and a normal working day with no weekend or holiday reading then it would take someone getting on for about 3 years to read it.

It's doubtful if those who put it together even know what's in the document.
