When a government gets into trouble it can divert attention by floating a string of controversial news stories. Judging by the rate at which these stories are coming through, the government must know it is in very serious trouble indeed. Here are two of this morning's red-rags:

There are some things that men must do in order that they remain as men.

These sound like the kinds of stories you can put on the shelf and wheel out when you need to fill a news paper..
