This is not to be taken as financial planning advise just trying to settle a family debate.

My sister is a civil servant and tells me that my wife is well below the threshold for 'keeping' child benefit as she is adamant that the 50k income is based on income net of income tax.

I believe otherwise and that it is the gross of salary + incomes such as dividends less pension contributions and trading losses.

Wife earns 55k basic plus car/fuel allowance with a BIK of 8k combined plus a bonus upto 25% of her salary (can be higher, i.e. last year was paid at 140%)

Whose right.
