Hope's publicist last night confirmed that he had been arrested but said that he denies all allegations. The FSA confirmed no-one has been charged in connection with the investigation and that the arrest is not linked to any other investigations.

His personal website describes him as a “a name to watch out for in the city” and “an expert in the UK economy” who regularly "trades millions".

The success or failure of your deeds does not add up to the sum of your life. Your spirit cannot be weighed. Judge yourself by the intention of your actions and by the strength you faced the challenges that have stood in your way.

The people closest to you have been trying to tell you that you have made a difference. That you did change things for the better. The Universe is vast and we are so small. There is really only one thing that we can ever truly control - whether we are good or evil.

The political triumph of the American Right has been to advance relentlessly the economic interests of the country's richest people, while emphasising a swath of moral, social and foreign policy issues that motivate and certainly distract middle-class and poor voters.

I cannot comment on your smug remark for legal reasons

Why would a 23-year-old trader even have a publicist?

Fraudster who passed himself off as City playboy jailed
A conman who claimed to be a high-flying financier has been jailed after he was caught operating a complex Ponzi scheme, defrauding investors of thousands of pounds

A self-proclaimed property multi-millionaire, Van Badlo of Belmont Farm House in Stud Green in Maidenhead, Berks, ran property seminars claiming to make investors rich, under the name of Raj Shastri.

Blimey - they're going for the entire government, the BoE and to cap it off the opposition as well.

Hope's co-defendant, Raj Von Badlo, who had earlier pleaded guilty, was sentenced to a total of 2 years’ imprisonment for recklessly making false representations to investors and promoting a collective investment scheme without authorisation.

Raj Von Badlo (also known as Raj Shastri) promoted Hope’s scheme to a large group of investors.  Over 75 investors gave £4.29 million to Hope as a result of Von Badlo’s actions.

Mr Shastri is also known as Raj Von Badlo and admitted to The Telegraph that he is currently bankrupt. "It's a long story, nothing to do with property," he said.

Mr Von Badlo also faces charges from the Financial Conduct Authority, the City regulator, for his part in an unauthorised Forex trading scheme.

Maybe BTL has reached is Jonestown moment, where the charasmatic leader has them all lined up, drinking his special 'Meet God' KoolAid?
