Not the lizard people then Aren't you paying attention? vClusters : VClusters http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/V_%281984_TV_series%29 V (also known as V: The Series) is a one-hour weekly television series that aired in the United States on NBC in 1984-85. It was a continuation of the science fiction franchise about an alien invasion of Earth by a carnivorous race of reptilians known as "The Visitors" Open your eyes! interestrateripoff
http://www.fubra.com/blog/2010/04/30/catn-vcluster-for-free-only-5-days-left/ Why clustered hosting?Clustered hosting has many benefits: Load is spread across numerous servers, reducing the reliance one machine, and avoiding bottlenecks. Your site will be spread across all parts of vCluster, so if one server goes down, the remaining servers will continue to host your site and keep it live. Different processes can be separated. We use a separate layer of servers for serving scripts to static content like images, which enables us to control resource use and guarantee performance of php scripts with dedicated resources. The nature of clustered hosting enables us to scale our super computer to meet any demands on capacity instantly. Experience no drops in performance when they receive a visitor spike, we simply add more servers to meet the new demands. vclusters not working as expected? council dweller
.....I went over to the otherside (mumsnet), I even signed up for it! I dressed up in some of my wife's clothes (It's okay she's in Japan for 3 weeks) and settled down.. OMFG. Some woman was going on about being stared at while breast feeding on a train, the bloke got off and she was worrying about whether or not she should have said something! I was lucky to escape with only a torn dress. Edited October 30, 2011 by council dweller
council dweller
You were warned to shave off your beard and wax your legs before you went over. But did you listen........... Yes, went round with me Braun (face, pits, legs and pubes) but it made no difference.

@contradevian
You know I've tried cloud hosting (tried a few third party services) but found a good old fashioned single dedicated server still gives better uptimes, especially using services like K-Splice which will update the running operating system kernel without the need for reboots. They are just less technologically complex than having to mount remote file systems, storage arrays and so on. Then again I wouldn't claim any of my sites are half as busy as this one. One feels for the Fubra Tech guys, not only will they have to give an account to management (which with any luck will be more technologically knowledgable than the guys I used to have to report to) but these things only seem to go wrong at the weekend. Not entirely sure what a Vcluster is, I assume it refers to a Virtual Cluster, perhaps booting Virtual Machines, using a Xen like Hypervisor over a remote (NFS) storage system. If you are non techie, that still won't mean anything! What I don't quite understand is how the managed to loose a whole lot, including DNS which is very bad. They should still be able to resolve to something, even if its just a temporary static "Ooops!" page. rantnrave
It's okay she's in Japan for 3 weeks With Fa Fai, that makes three of us on this site with Darling Wives from the Land of the Rising Sun. Given what's happened to house prices in Japan, are they the least likely to put darling hubby under pressure to jump in to the housing market? @contradevian
One of the main points for using virtual servers is to stop these things happening. Virtual Servers won't stop that happening (unless you can migrate them, pretty damn quick). Cloud hosting should. FubraNOC's postings suggest only a single box as the Network File Server.
