IT'S SO NOT FAIR!
26.10.10, 8:19am

House prices must come down so I can buy one as I don't have any money but I really really want to have a big house like so I can be like the successful people I see on the street. It's so not fair!

I have made up a buyers strike page on facebook so that everyone can go on strike from buying homes so that the prices will come down so that I can get one. So far we have 6 people doing it.

People should post negative comments all over the internet when the media publish gloomy news so that nobody buys houses and I can afford to buy a really big one really really cheap and look very posh and all my friends will be jealous of me instead of the other way round and I can get a girlfriend then.

If you say "democorruptcy" quickly, it sounds a bit like "democracy". In a "democracy" people vote for politicians who represent their interests. In the UK's "democorruptcy" people can only vote for expense fiddling thieving MPs who are in the hip pocket of big business and the finance sector.

The Funding for Lending Scheme (FLS) is stealing from savers to make them pay for crimes by bankers. Via lower interest on savings, all the bank fines for PPI, LIBOR and interest rates swaps are now being paid by savers so that bankers can keep pocketing bonuses.

"We need to make a really big change: from an economy built on debt to an economy built on savings" - David Camoron Jan 2009
"Printing money is the last resort of desperate governments when all other policies have failed" - George Osborne Jan 2009
- So what do Camoron & Osborne do? Print money and leave interest rates at 0.5% when inflation is over 5%

If it is asserted that civilization is a real advance in the condition of man -- and I think that it is, though only the wise improve their advantages -- it must be shown that it has produced better dwellings without making them more costly; and the cost of a thing is the amount of what I will call life which is required to be exchanged for it, immediately or in the long run.

Did you recognise the two robbers in my avatar? Clue: One got a knighthood and inflation linked pension, the other a 150 year prison sentence.

With Realistbear's name used the other day and now this, I suspect a few EAs have too much time on their hands! ;)

Bloo loo, did you really write this comment?

SIBLEY IS QUITE RIGHT...

Hes always been right about house prices. Presently they are stagnating and a crash in any way looks highly unlikely to happen now.

Lets face facts its all over now. There's no way house prices are going to fall and you have 2 options. Either rent off someone who had the foresight to invest in property at the right time or get a decent job and buy one yourself. There is no point in complaining that we have all missed the boat when he was telling us so at the time.

Should have bought a buy to let when I had the chance.

Someone's impersonating TMT in the comments. Made one flaw though - the one and only original is in Wales isn't he?

Looks like a lot of people had been holding off until the results of the spending review. Now that it is over and consumer confidence has returned (evidenced by today's survey) I fully expect that house prices will recover early in the new year.

My advice is get in while you can. Things have bottomed out and rates are low. Prices will bounce back before you know it.

2012 Predictions - made January 1st 2012
 • Inflation to drop sharply and to a level that makes pay rises and savings account rates seem half decent
 • BTL to be revealed as the next financial disaster in the making as potential tenants buy lower priced houses
 • Progress to be made toward the market bottoming out from 2015, so more falls but not as seen in 08-09

Is "The maskedtulip" commenting from some parallel universe from Stephen Hawkings vivid imagination or is he just being facitious?

The political triumph of the American Right has been to advance relentlessly the economic interests of the country's richest people, while emphasising a swath of moral, social and foreign policy issues that motivate and certainly distract middle-class and poor voters.

Thank you. My lawyers are onto it. I know how Superman felt now when someone nicked his tights and cape.
