Anyway, moving on.....
Looked at some houses in the Maidstone area ("where prices never go down" - Sibley). There is sodall around that you would actually want to put your savings/inheritance/lottery money/stolen cash in. It's either shit built new-build shoeboxes or 1mil+ "stately homes" with far more land than I can ever use and a price I could never afford.
The best I've found is a 1930s family house that is JUST within my price range, but i'd be struggling to buy it and it's near an apparently feral school.
I should have kept my 18 bedroom palace I inherited in Buckingham.
EDIT: Er 6 bed in Hempstead......that I rented out to 120 Polish Plumbers.
EDIT2: Forgot to say, I have decided to keep renting for at least the next 6 months.
EDIT3: Last Edit I promise.......a decent size family home in most of the NW is the price of a new build, 3-bed (so one double, 1 ok, 1 cot-sized room) "starter" down here (and I don't mean Chester where most Man U players live....). Sad I know, but there really is a North/South divide. If there wasn't, i'd be laughing and change my status to bull.
