  1. Funny how she winges about the rules of the stock market and the regulations are in place. Since when were rules and regulations applied to this money printing industry?
  2. I'm a cynical person - It's in the EAs own interest to see the money grow and keep 100% of the interest. I will ask the agent I deal with the question and see what they say.
  3. I was wondering if renters had any claim to the interest earned on deposits being held by Estate Agents. The EA has held on to my deposit of £945 for the best part of a year and is no doubt earning interest on it. Are they legally entitled to the interest. In theory the money is still mine as it will be returned to me. Am I not therefore entitled to the interest made on it or the interest that my own savings account would have made on it. It is sickening to think the the EA is making money on the deposit when the don't do anything. The property is managed by the landlord. Any ideas out there?
  4. A friend I used to sare with was allowed a cat. All the landlord asked was that at when we moved out we had the place de-fleaed. From memory that only cost around £40. He was allowed the cat because we had a mouse. My mate wouldn't leave his room because of the tiny beast so he got the cat. Unfortunately the cat was being given away becaused it's previous owners got a new dog and the cat was scared of it. When the cat moved in my mate wouldn't come downstairs without the cat in case there was a mouse and the cat wouldn't come downstairs without my mate in case there was a dog lurking! They relied on eachother for about 2 weeks!!!
  5. I did punch it - the wall just wobbled and a picture fell off the wall along with some other rubbish on a shelf on the otherside. It was still very satisfying stabbing a hole in it with scissors.
  6. Thanks for the replies, much appreciated. I thought that would be the case too. I have been lurking on this site for ages, it's brilliant. I always thought my first post would be a constructive one on the current state of the housing market or the financial state of the country. Oh well. Thanks again
  7. I'm looking for some advice. This morning i found myself trapped in my bathroom. The handle wouldn't turn the lock and therefore the door wouldn't open. As hilarious as this is I had to get out any the only way to do so was to create a hole in the door, stick my arm through and open it from the outside. Fortunately my landlord has cheap hollow doors made of thick card and the handle on the outside was still working. Needless to say I am now out. I am replacing the door today. Given that the handle was broken which can still be proven will i have to foot the entire bill for the new door and lock set or is this something the landlord will have to stomach? This is the first time the lock has done this so we couldn't have previously reported. All sarcastic and helpful comments welcome. Thanks in advance
