I had virtually stopped using cash anyway and I think the oldies who like cash are now too scared to touch it. I think most money used to get lost on Friday night when people lost control of their senses and wallets. But now it is all cards and phones, I don't walk around looking for pennies on the ground. I pay contactless using my watch. Only time I use a card is at the petrol station because it's selfserve.

I found a coin on the floor of a supermarket by the checkout about a month ago. I think I've found coins on the pavement on a few occasions over the last year or so. I never used to find much money, so I don't know if this is slightly down on previously or about the same. 4 hours ago, Mikhail Liebenstein said: I had virtually stopped using cash anyway and I think the oldies who like cash are now too scared to touch it. Before the pandemic, there were several occasions where the buffet car on the evening train didn't have a working card machine and I was able to skip about 6 people in the queue and get some wine. I know quite a few people who just 'never carry cash', feels a bit bizarre but they probably don't into much trouble because of it. 🍷🍷
