Chuffy Chuffnell
Sellers clearly believe in the "spring bounce". Clearly don't believe that something is only worth what a purchaser will pay for it. And they can't realise their property's worth until it sells. Ah well, roll on it's reduction to £995,000..

Superted187
Kicking this as I've just been picking through Rightmove's sold prices data and I can see plenty of haircuts in Worcester http://www.rightmove.co.uk/house-prices/detail.html?country=england&locationIdentifier=REGION%5E1483&searchLocation=Worcester&referrer=listChangeCriteria

Doesn't seem to have as much going for it as Stourb, but seems a bit less bubbly. Main problem seems to be limited volume and areas for 4-5 bed non newbuilds with gardens. nnails
I think worcester is bit more greener than stourbridge. the prices just seem stuck at value not moving up or down currently. I think i posted about the tontine converted pub in stourport in 2011. Its still for sale but prices has gone up!!!!!
Wurzel Of Highbridge
I think worcester is bit more greener than stourbridge. the prices just seem stuck at value not moving up or down currently. I think i posted about the tontine converted pub in stourport in 2011. Its still for sale but prices has gone up!!!!! It's because the seller thinks that people have access to more cheaper credit. It is a bit wierd that, as in other areas of Worcs prices seem to have moved a lot up in the last year, but not Worcester itself?

I thought it might get £180k but agents valued it and it sold! ~Still, it means I might be able to retire earlier than planned :-)
bearwithasorehead
now looking at Droitwich.... Any leads?
nnails
I like droitwich. but do NOT by a house near wastelands (westlands) estate
bearwithasorehead
Was thinking near the Lido, but rather pricy around there. Still better value than Stourbridge or Bromsgrove though.
The Preacherman
Droitwich offers better value than Worcester as long as you avoid the roads round the Lido park and the new housing estates which still have their new home premium. Also avoid Westlands. Fortunately as it is the other side of the bypass it keeps the scum living there contained. What type of house are you looking for? bearwithasorehead
Why do you say avoid roads round Lido? I am looking for 4 bed with garage and decent garden. Study would be nice. Around 400k summat like this: http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-31906296.html?premiumA=true Edited September 28, 2014 by bearwithasorehead
bearwithasorehead
Don't particularly like this one, but it is better 'value' than similar properties in N Worcs and Stourbridge. Why? http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-45500104.html?premiumA=true
The Preacherman
The reason for avoiding the roads around the Lido park is not that there is anything wrong with the area far from it is the most desirable area in Droitwich. However, this can give prices that are a 50% premium to other streets in Droitwich. If you know were to look you can find some superb value per m2. Try some of the 70s estates off Primsland Way and the roads around Alexander Avenue on the other side of the Worcester Road. Looking off Primsland try this which is similar m2 to the Worcester Road house albeit with a smaller garden but it does have a proper bathroom. http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-47559893.html Or if you don't mind renovating and extending there is this. http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-46337975.html Why is Droitwich cheaper than North Worcs and Stourbridge. I think it down to the fact that it that bit further away from Birmingham so it discourages the commuters.

bearwithasorehead
Still attracted to Worcs and Droitwich but now both ruled out because of lack of access to state school. Especially difficult in primary age in Worcs.
