  1. Sunak, that vile piece of shite, is in full on election mode now, slagging off Starmer from a rostrum in Poland. I didn't think I could hate a PM more than I did BJ, but this joker is getting there with his plan, plan, plan.
  2. Slimy Tory MP on Sky News this morning... "We must stop the boats because peoples' lives are being put at risk by the evil criminal gangs". Pull the other one .
  3. Not necessarily, although they have a duty to report if suspicious. Estate and letting agency business guidance for money laundering supervision - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
  4. I believe that it's the responsibility of the conveyancing solicitor to sign off the funds being used. If they know you and are satisfied that there is no money laundering then checks may not be necessary.
  5. It looks like The Lords has caved in, as will The King tomorrow, no doubt . So what next to stop this nonsense?
  6. Isn't it up to your solicitor to decide whether checks are necessary?
  7. And send people to an unsafe country, possibly to their deaths?
  8. Scars of the 1994 genocide still haunt Rwanda (voanews.com)
  9. Is it just me or does the word genocide come to mind whenever Rwanda is mentioned? Perhaps that's the reason the government chose it, to strike terror into the hearts of immigrants.
  10. Rwanda bill latest: MPs and Lords in showdown as Sunak promises flights by July - BBC News Summary MPs and peers are sitting in Parliament for a showdown on the Safety of Rwanda Bill, after months of deadlock The House of Commons has sent the bill back to the Lords having voted to reject its most recent amendments PM Rishi Sunak says it will be approved by Parliament tonight "no matter how late it goes - no ifs, no buts" He says flights taking some asylum seekers to Rwanda will set off in "10-12 weeks" The plan - designed to deter migrants crossing the Channel in small boats - was announced in 2022, but no flights have set off Sunak previously said he expected flights to set off this spring - he acknowledges the delay, but blames it on Labour
  11. Because the BoE is only independent of the government as long as the government wants it to be so.
  12. Don't forget the evil people smuggling gangs... the ones that, from the point of view of the illegal immigrants, are providing a necessary service which they are willing to pay for, despite the obvious risks in crossing the channel in inclement weather in rubber dinghies.
  13. And he's on... complete with "STOP THE BOATS" lectern banner .
