Those of you who will be near a TV this lunch time (Tuesday 2nd September) might be interested to flick over to Sky News at about twenty to two for an article about today's Stamp Duty announcement. Housepricecrash.co.uk will be represented, as ever, by our very own man in the media, Financial Planner.

Financial Planner will also be making an appearance on tonight's Channel 5 News at 5pm.

If you missed the Sky item you can view it online or download it from the HPC server: Afternoon Live with Kay Burley.

The Channel 5 package is also available from the HPC server: Channel 5 News

The close of the interview "Don't touch property with a barge pole" was strong and simple. I thought the whole interview (aired at 13:44 - 13:49) came across much better than previous attempts.

For anyone with no particular interest of the HPC the points made were simple, clear and compelling. Having this beamed into millions of homes on a leading channel is significant.

Good interview, liked the final comment about not touching property with a bargepole, houses to fall for the next two years, probably more. Nice round-up.

Middle of interview about Brown being the worst Chancellor for a 100 years could have been misinterpreted as being anti Labour, which potentially could alienate a sizeable section of the audience, although it does need to be said repeatedly on the Media that Brown has been a disaster as Chancellor - difficult for luvvies to get their heads around that though.

Just seen FP/JD on Sky. Fantastic stuff! He demolished Browns record as chancellor and his latest over-hyped and feeble housing proposals. Finished by stating the housing market is collapsing and prices will fall for at least 2 years and probably 3 or 4 and advised "Don't touch property with a bargepole"

Kay Burley was left looking white-faced and terrified by the sheer honesty of it all

FP,

Superb performance,

'don't touch property with a barge pole', and 'GB been the worst financial manager for 100 years'

Can it get any better?:rolleyes:

FP deserves to be seen more, together with others who share his views, the message has to get through that this is not a minor blip, this will be a very serious period for property investors, ESPECIALLY FTB, DO NOT buy at the current time.

But how safe will our savings be?

RiG

Reminds me of ENRON when the Directors were advising staff and the public to buy and manipulating the figures whilst they were bailing out. Its a bit like what the Property Developers are doing now, with Government Propaganda they are trying to entice the First Time Buyers in too carry the CAN while they BAIL OUT before the BIGGEST PROPERTY CRASH in history.

Basically all the Government has done really is propping up the Titanic by using BUCKETS instead of Tea Cups to stop the Boat Sinking. The Developers are jumping in the Life Boats whilst First Time Buyers are being left on board with the Government delaying the invitable SINKING.:lol:

Sky News are replaying the closing part of the interviews with the "bargepole" line in numerous pieces related to the housing news. They are giving a lot of airtime to people pointing out the futility of the Brown package announced today. Kay has just asked an estate agent "is it totally pointless buying any kind of property until after the end of 2009?".

This is strong stuff from a major news channel.

The BBC are barely mentioning it other than trotting out the "Government attempts to help the housing market" mantra.

They can try but they cannot buck the market.
