I would add these local auctioneers from the west Mildlands.

Bigwood: http://www.bigwood.uk.com/ (very big auctioneer mainly Birmingham area)

Bond Wolfe: http://www.bondwolfe.net/ (very big auctioneer mainly Birmingham area)

Andrew Grant: http://www.andrew-grant.co.uk/ (occasional auction sales only mainly Worcestershire)

Griffiths & Charles: http://www.griffiths-charles.co.uk/ (auction around 20 properties once every quarter in Worcester)

All are genuine auctions and gets you outside of the London BTL brigade's normal radar coverage.

I am glad this topic has been posted. I am coming round to the idea of chancing my arm in an auction, you never know.

It's been mentioned more than once, just not as a topic.

I would be wary of auctions for the next couple of years as the 'it's-only-a-blip' bargain hunters will be out in force.

EDIT:- link wouldn't light

Does anyone know of any auction sites that cover the Swindon area?

Is there any demand?

Great list there OnlyMe.

The second the mortgage LTV (loan to value) creeps a little higher all these auction properties are going to be snapped up. The people who never bought or did not treat their property like a ATM, pulling cash out every time it increased in value still have money and they will jump on investment properties.

There were 18 properties that sold at the last Allsop auction in London for under £100,000. Take a look at a quick investment calculation on some of these, you can get a great yield. House repossession yields.
