After spending 5K sold to a couple with a baby for 295K The second one (the best) Safiye and Zafer with there three children a flat at Pontoise (Val d' Oise) Property on sale for the last two years advertised with 23 different EAs and not a single visit ! The were in debt unpaid credits and 'charges' meaning the caretaker ,heating etc Price a 170K Two years ago price a 150K Steph asks them why did you put the price up? Answer 'the debts have gone up so we put the price up by 10K a year' Steph "We will ask for a 155K try to be realistic" Zafer the wife bursts out crying but eventually agrees Aurèlie (white teeth) spends 4K on the home re-looking A few visits but not a single offer They decide to rent out there 80m2 flat BTW The childrens bedroom was strange a total mess just a few mattresses on the floor and a shower that they used as a cupboard! Interesting debate though. It is very difficult to judge house prices in France. We bought a ruin in 2009 for next to nothing. We're told that its probably worth around 250,000 now (we live near Berck, Pas de Calais), although the true value is probably a lot less and certainly going down daily. What are your thoughts on the bottom of the market as compared to its peak? (ie. (I speak fluent French). Well, I suspect peak to trough from 2008 heights to presumably 2015 (bottom of market) - at around 40%. Would you say that is a fair estimate?
