If your not too bothered where you want to stay, North Tyneside Council flats are available in certain areas (Not sure about Monkseaton though). With changes to the Housing Benefits this April there will be alot of people downsizing as they will be penalised for under occupancy, also known as the bedroom tax A friend of mine got a flat witnin a few months of applying. Think I'll just wait it out a bit longer rather than looking at tyneside council flats.
