Bloody hell! £185k for this 1970s 3 bedroomed ex-council house!

http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-59037677.html

Even worse is that it's a 'Buy to Let only' purchase with 3 tenants paying a combined £1050 a month.:blink: (Council house rent maybe about £325-400 a month)
EA is claiming a 6.9% yield.

Most expensive house on this close sold for £149k in December.

This house looks very cross about its valuation! Or is it cross about having a mention in this thread?

It's like the assembly hall of a first school on my old stomping ground (I attended a boring looking school on the estate):

2 bedroomed terraced bungalow OIRO £175k. Being a terraced is pretty rare in Norwich. A hell of a lot of work to do there:

This 2 bed bungalow in the same area is semi detached and is for OIEO £160k. Looks less daunting as a project but this is probably still overpriced.

1960s timewarp house for £325k. Last house on this road sold for £260k in 2013 (ceiling price on this road), so this museum piece seems horrendously overpriced.

That groovy carpet in pic 6 is giving me a bit of a headache. But I would be tempted to keep that mint humbug themed bathroom in pic 10. B)

Wow! They could charge admission for that experience! Astonishing.

Not a s**thole but an asking price of £185k for this ex-LA leasehold flat! Similar price to some 3 bedroomed freehold houses. Price inflated on account of no neighbours living underneith, nor is it ajoining another property.

Last sold in 2005 for £100k and in 1999 £36k. Possibly sold by the council via Right To Buy for a lot less prior to 1995.

Possibly a winner for this thread. I initially thought that the price was a mistake but it's genuine. It's in Zone 5.

Bears no reality to current bubbly prices in same area nor previous sold prices on this street. I can only assume vendor and EA are crack smoking buddies and cooked up the price during one of their sessions.

But the advert specifically says it's "REALISTICALLY PRICED" (Express Estate Agency) ! ;)

I want to phone up in a thick Russian accent and offer nine hundred and fifty thousand (whisper) twenty pences. And keep it up until it gets to signing paperwork.

Hi all,

A quick question as I can't seem to find the answer.

The classic overpriced sh*thole thread ... now it's been moved to the classics section I can't seem to add a reply. Does that mean it's now been closed?

if so, we should probably start another one. There are plenty of candidates .... and there are bound to be  more if we get a BTL exodus
