Most overpriced Sh*thole

Meanwhile, in Cambridge we have something with a bunkbed almost hanging over the stairs.

http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-32362966.html

Surely surely surely that's a stray "1" in the price?

I hope you are right about the price. Just look at the floorplan.

Where could I put the bed?

Do you think (looking at the first picture) that it was once one house that has been split into two?

This actually comprises 2 barns link detached -one is in complete need of refurbishment hence no pics and the other ...as seen

makes you wonder how close to the wind some of them sail in view of these latest guidelines.....

I think you are right. This looks like a small end terrace split right down the middle (front and back). Jeez this country is a mess. How on earth can planning permission be granted for that - it's a joke.

The only consolation is that the erse has really fallen out of this kind of nonsense in Scotland, so hopefully the South will eventually follow.

**EDITED to add, from the brochure, the rental on this property is 740 of your english pounds PCM. Add in bills and CT and you are looking at 12k PA to sleep on a landing, in a bunk, above a grotty half kitchen. Yee haw.

I LOVE THIS THREAD!

I hope that is the winner of the 2012 Most Over-Priced Shithole competition, I really do.

You really don't want to take a Giant shit in the toilet before bed, and then smell it all night, do you ?

property developers guide to "creating value":

you buy a house , add some soft colours, wooden floor, wooden sticks in a vase , split in 3, and rename the building some old ******** like 'old vicarage' and you've "earned" a cool million. Fliptastick "value" creation 101.

Usually I am suspicious if the above method is applied, but not when it's comes with a fantastic garden like this - I am sold:

Nearly £140k for this crock of sh*te:

80426_25HilaryAvenue_IMG_01_0000_max_620x414.jpg

2 bed house in Norwich, NR1

The vendor would be lucky to get that for a modernised house, let alone one that needs at least £10k worth of work. Check out the bidet in picture 9!

Problem with that house is it's not cheap (for Norwich) and although it doesn't look like a complete wreck, it actually needs so much work that it might as well be. Shame the price doesn't reflect that. There must be a surplus of old people up there, because my eyes are often offended by the the carpet, curtain and colour schemes.

I wouldn't wipe my %^&$ on that bidet - although at least it's in the bathroom and not the bedroom!

I'd of thought thats the price that needs to be realised for care home fees/legals/debts left to the people set to inherit, or they are just greedy... theres a empty house near me up for £300,000 thats been on the market for 2 years, elderly person died... whoever inherited wants it to sell for 50-70k more than the ceiling price in that area.

Time and again I ask people to do a little more research.

I don't know how many miles I am from Norwich, and I sure never visited the place, but is this property in the nicer part of the City?

One google check shows it's handy for the local prison (400 feet I'd say)

Edit -

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?hl=en&tab=wl&q=NR1%204lf

The google image is dated 2008

seems it was for sale or rent even then.

Property no 25.

Last sold in 2009 for £120,000

This house is in a good part of Stockport, and comes with a building plot for another house, but must be the most derelict-looking heap I've ever seen advertised in Marple Bridge...

http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-21258414.html

Seems like a nice spot, and as they say, it is being sold for it's development 'potential'.

No indication of the size of the plot(s) though, so can't begin to judge on the asking price.

Found this shed to rent near Winchester.

Spacious is NOT a word I would use to describe it! There's barely enough room to stand up, let alone swing the proverbial cat.

Only £625 PCM

This drab two bedroom bungalow is a snip at £550K. The agent says it's in need of complete modernisation throughout, I say it's in need of a bulldozer.

A little optimistic or a cracking investment opportunity? You decide...

Hard to tell if you're looking to buy, rent or just post post to this thread acharmlessman.

Given both properties you linked to were in Hampshire I'll assume rent or buy 1 bed minimum within about 10 miles of Winchester.

Both properties you linked to were west of Winchester which is the expensive side imo but you included a buy property very close to Winchester. If you're looking to buy ,Petersfield may be a good option in that area imo.

Actually the more I look at the photos and the floorplan and so, I think that wins the thread. At least for the past year or two.

Truly incredible.

The sold prices on that street are also terrifying.

http://*******.com/6ro3329

The street also has its own wikipedia entry

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leckford_Road

'The most famous resident of the road was Bill Clinton, the former US president between 1992 and 2000. He lived in 46 Leckford Road while studying.....'

I wonder if this is number 46 after the correction!

46 Leckford Road, Oxford, Oxfordshire, OX2 6HY

Terraced, Freehold, Not New Build

Thinking of selling? Get a free valuation.

£1,175,000

History 18-Sep-2009

Wow. That's the kind of house that was selling for £30k in Northampton ten years ago and would now be put on around £100k. £685k for that is just insane.

Just look at the energy efficiency!

You guys are too bearish on this, only 30x national earnings in a bubble for the ages with mortgage rates recently decoupled from BoE rates because of the CML lenders £850bn funding gap, plus you can see a wall from your desk.

Some people...

[Yeah, whatever, double dip recession this, retails sales that, you're not seeing the story - I mean Bill Clinton... Bill Clinton]
