nome
This probably deserves a thread all of it's own but I'll leave it here for all us huth devotees to dwell upon... Steppenpig
...all us huth devotees... ...you're usually a bit more coy about your secret vice... Dion Dublin is unfortunately a bit crap. The others presenters (and in most other property porn) formerly worked as estate agents or property developers, and you can tell they love it. Dublin is just reading his lines. I have noticed a few times his kowledge of property is a bit lacking. One time he was really confused by there being a thermosta on the wall, apparently he'd never seen such a thing before. He alwas looks like a spare wheel when they're all together, and he has bad posture. I don't think he'd ever get the job on telly in a fair competition, but I assumed it was because he was a minor celbrity, rather than cos he was black. Any thoughts appreciated. 124a Lyndhurst Way, London SE15 4PT (Just to mention to avoid confusion, 124b is on the market also for 350k. It is the unmodernised upper flat) Lot 77 purchased at Savills auction 31 March 2015 for 314k. They failed to complete within the 28 days and had to pay a further 20k http://catalogue.auctions.savills.co.uk/london-national/Previous-Auctions/#&&s=2 Budgeted and (allegedly) spent 12.5k and hoping for 100k profit August 2015, one EA valuation at 375 to 400k, the other at 450k Speculator say "we're definitely going to get the 450, or close to". Voiceover proclaims that will give a profit before tax of 103.5k. Speculator "can't wait to get back tothe auction and do it again" The reality (program first broadcast 12 Jan 2016) 28 Aug 2015 (around the time of the EA valuation and summing up) Marketed at 415k http://www.zoopla.co.uk/property-history/124a-lyndhurst-way/london/se15-4pt/37935732 7 November 2015 reduced to 350k http://www.zoopla.co.uk/property-history/124a-lyndhurst-way/london/se15-4pt/38028001 15 Feb 2016 reduced to 300k http://www.zoopla.co.uk/property-history/124a-lyndhurst-way/london/se15-4pt/39514117 and put up for auction with MS auctions lot 28 http://auctioneertemplates.eigroup.co.uk/results.aspx?a=825&c=msa&Au=24032 Withdrawn before auction and current status "sold STC" presumably for between 300 and 350k http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-51934096.html Not yet on Land Reg + + + So instead of the upbeat proclamation of 103.5k profit, we have losses of probably 50k plus finance charges, possibly even bankruptcy. + + + Just for the record, the others were 6 Prospect Avenue, Cadishead, Manchester M44 5ZP http://www.zoopla.co.uk/property/6-prospect-avenue/cadishead/manchester/m44-5zp/14385223 EA valuation 85 to 100k with top figure announced as giving profit of 15k, not mentioned that bottom figure gives profit of nil so a loss when finance and other costs included. Completely mad. Gutted and rebuilt, nice layout, but final spec looks pretty standard B&Q. Interesting to hear a figure like 75k though. Presumably more realistic than most episodes. Total spend 122k EA valuation: suggests listing at 110 ~ 115k to achieve 95 ~ 100k Idiot presenter calling it a potential 7k loss! It's a bloody potential (almost certain) 32k loss, and probably more. It had taken him 18 months, so there's financing costs and the loss of his own time which he could have spent in productive employent! Final voiceover "left him with experiences that will benefit him for years to come". Complete and utter idiots. Not yet sold. If there's one thing I've learnt from watching huth, it's keep away from those deceptively cheap welsh valleys. Steppenpig
Oh thats right, there was a new presenter. Looked a bit posh. Steppenpig
May as well keep an eye on this one.  3 Wharf Terrace, Madeley Heath, Crewe, CW3 9LW 75k at auction, 25k refurb, valued at 125k and currently for sale at that price. FLAT 12, LAWRENCE COURT, HIGHFIELD SOUTH, BIRKENHEAD, MERSEYSIDE 39,750 at auction plus a couple of grand for the refurb. curiously, still listed on rightmove from pre the auction, but I assume it is just a data error. http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-57649924.html Edited June 29, 2017 by Steppenpig

Good luck to the young man I say. That flat in Birkenhead looked tiny with that open plan kitchen in the already small living room. As for that Paisley fire station - wow! I hope we get to see the end result one day. Seems like the finances of the twins are getting stretched without Nicola Sturgeon's grant money. Definately needs the upper floors turning into residential flats.

MattW
Lucy Alexander is on today's show. Must be from the previous series. Woman developer of 1st property: 'My husband was very cross about how much money I spent at the auction...' (about £482k). Cue OTT false laughter by Lucy. The new Scottish presenter seems OK. Not quite as excitable as Lucy.
