Bland Unsight
I don't run an ad blocker or any related fancy dan gubbins, just straight out of the box chrome. I've just opened up a thread and got two banner ads, one for a donkey sanctuary and one for East of England Co-op Funeral Services. / I realise that this may be partly informed by my browsing history, which is basically hpc, Property118 and donkey snuff films (one of those is a joke) but how on Earth did I convince the Great Wizard of the Internet to supply those banner ads to complement my browsing experience. Interested to hear about any other unexpected banner ads hpcers have noted.

Personal loans and M&S Energy. I hear a lot about banner ads for internet brides, but have yet to see one, which is good, because Ivana gets very jealous. MattW
Several years ago one HPC-er complained that he was seeing banner ads for 'Gay Chubby Dating'. I was seeing the same ads too. Edited December 2, 2015 by MattW
Danny Deflation
Install a decent ad blocker. Ads slow down your browser and most are of no interest. I installed a blocker after being "targetted" with ads for feminine hygeine products.

I could offer to tell people's future based on the banner ads that they are seeing. (I've had worse ideas.)

I was seeing the same ads too. That's another no for me. I'd consider dating a chubby gay Russian donkey, provided it shared my views on buy-to-let. Some lines you mustn't cross.
