Perhaps people working for the charities have homes to sell in London?

May well be.  The argument though was that it is inhuman to expect refugees to live in Rochdale.

Why?  I would very upset if I lived in Rochdale and heard that.

UN 'deeply concerned' over safety of 400,000 civilians fleeing US-led coalition airstrikes in Raqqa

The safety of over 400,000 people in Raqqa, Syria, where US-backed Syrian opposition forces are bombing ISIS, is of "deep concern" to the UN. The offensive has resulted in "an escalating number of civilian deaths” as well as damage to vital civilian infrastructure, the organization added.

No idea whether this is accurate as it comes from FARS (Iranian news agency). If true, this is presumably to counter any American buildup on the ground. Syria will then be effectively partitioned, with the Legitimate Government on one side, with the lawfully present forces of Iran/Russian assisting them, and the Americans/West with their 'moderate' rebels/terrorists on the other.

Russia Ready To Send Ground Troops To Syria

Iran news agency FARS reports that according to Syrian military sources, Moscow has informed Damascus of its preparedness to dispatch ground troops to Syria.

Russia Responds After US Blocks Inspection of Syrian Air Base

US 'blocked a decision aimed at a prompt initiation of a mission to find out what really happened in Khan Sheikhun', according to Russia's OPCW Ambassador Alexander Shulgin:

'We guess that Americans probably have something to hide, since they persistently want to take the Shayrat airport out of the investigation. Maybe they knew from the start there was no chemical weapons there, and all this was used only as an excuse?'

Again more Russian mis information. But you know keep trying.

In fact the investigation was blocked because there is already an investigation by the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) into the incident, which has already stated there was incontrovertible evidence that Sarin gas was used in the attack.

You must be so very proud that your country is covering up these genocidal attacks.

A little more information about the sectarian war going on in the region, from the Guardian.

Quote

Iran and Saudi Arabia’s rivalry has played out in proxy wars across the region. They back opposite sides in the wars in Syria and Yemen and they support political rivals in Lebanon, Bahrain and Iraq. The conflicts have deepened Sunni-Shia enmity between hardliners on both sides.

Ties between Saudi Arabia and Iran have been strained since Iran’s 1979 revolution, with each side competing to be the more powerful force in the Muslim world. Tensions escalated last year, with Saudi Arabia’s execution of a local Shia cleric sparking the ransacking of the Saudi embassy in Iran by protesters. The two countries severed diplomatic and trade ties.

Al-Jazeera Said To Film False Flag Chemical Attack Against Syrian Civilians

One month after Trump flip-flopped on his Syrian position, launching cruise missile strikes on a Syrian airfield as "after dinner entertainment" during Trump's meeting with the Chinese president, just days after declaring he would allow the Syrian people to decide the fate of Assad when another "chemical attack" video emerged at the end of March, a false flag chemical attack against civilians in Syria was reportedly filmed recently by al-Jazeera stringers in Syria

Around 30 fire engines and ambulances, as well as 70 local residents with children transported from a refugee camp were used in the filming of the Al Jazeera clip across three locations in Idlib province, including Jisr Shughur.

This filming was said to have been ordered from a European country.

Luckily, the Russians will have no mercy and these people will be destroyed soon enough.

Video Emerges Of US Allowing ISIS Fighters To Escape Safely In Syria

With numerous distractions unfolding on the newly released reality TV show that is “Keeping Up with the Trump Administration,” it may surprise readers to learn that the U.S. is using the terror group ISIS as a pawn in its depraved foreign policy.

Video footage obtained by Al-Masdar appears to show convoys of ISIS fighters fleeing the Syrian city of Raqqa untouched by the U.S. military, which is currently bombing that exact location. As Al-Masdar notes, despite having Kurdish and American drones hovering around the city of Raqqa, U.S. bombs are nowhere to be seen as hundreds of fighters pass safely. The release of this footage comes on the heels of accusations from both Russia and Iran that the U.S. is colluding with ISIS to allow the group’s safe passage into areas controlled by the Syrian government.

Seymour Hersh leaks the true story about the pseudo-chemical attack in Khan Sheikhoun (MUST READ)

Intelligence officials doubted the alleged Sarin gas attack at Khan Sheikhoun. WELT AM SONNTAG presents a chat protocol of a security advisor and an active American soldier on duty at a key base in the region.  This conversation was provided to Seymour Hersh. It is betweeen a security adviser and an active US American soldier on duty on a key operational base about the events in Khan Sheikhoun. We have made abbreviations: American soldier (AS) and Security Advisor (SA). WELT AM SONNTAG is aware of the location of the deployment. For security reasons, certain details of military operations have been omitted.

Excerpt:

SA: You may not have seen trumps press conference yesterday. He’s bought into the media story without asking to see the Intel. We are likely to get our asses kicked by the Russians. ******ing dangerous. Where are the godamn adults? The failure of the chain of command to tell the President the truth, whether he wants to hear it or not, will go down in history as one of our worst moments.

AS: I don’t know. None of this makes any sense. We KNOW that there was no chemical attack. The Syrians struck a weapons cache (a legitimate military target) and there was collateral damage. That’s it. They did not conduct any sort of a chemical attack.

Good to see the nations of the world finally coming to their senses. Good work from Russia, who totally changed the face of history in the region and prevented Syria from turning into an ISIS playground and American-created insanity:

Victory for Assad looks increasingly likely as world loses interest in Syria

An announcement earlier this week by Jordan – one of the opposition’s most robust supporters – that “bilateral ties with Damascus are going in the right direction” has, for many, marked a death knell for the opposition cause.

Within the ranks of the political opposition, and regional allies, the statement was the opening act of something that all had dreaded: normalisation with a bitter foe. And without anything much to show for it.

Emphasising his words, Jordanian government spokesman Mohammad al-Momani said: “This is a very important message that everyone should hear.” And indeed, the about-face in Amman was quickly noted in Ankara, Doha, and Riyadh, where – after seven and a-half years of war – states that were committed to toppling the Syrian leader are now resigned to him staying.

Russia has helped Syria to a glorious victory over terrorism!

Syria days away from annihilating ISIS on the battlefield: Here’s what comes next

Mohammed Ibrahim Samra, the governor of Deir ez-Zor has stated that the Syrian Arab Army is 24 to 48 hours away from storming the gates of Deir ez-Zor city which for years has been besieged by ISIS.

Syria’s elite Tiger forces are now less than 3 kilometres from the city gates. With Russian Aerospace Forces consistently and successfully clearing the path for the Syrian Arab Army, the defeat of ISIS on the battle field is now a matter of when and not if and more specially, such a thing could be achieved before the end of September of this year.

The credit for the destruction of ISIS as a military unit will be legitimately earned by Syria, Russia, Iran, their volunteer partners and the Lebanese party Hezbollah.

Bombshell Report Catches Pentagon Falsifying Paperwork For Weapons Transfers To Syrian Rebels

A new bombshell joint report issued by two international weapons monitoring groups Tuesday confirms that the Pentagon continues to ship record breaking amounts of weaponry into Syria and that the Department of Defense is scrubbing its own paper trail. On Tuesday the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP) and the Balkan Investigative Reporting Network (BIRN) produced conclusive evidence that not only is the Pentagon currently involved in shipping up to $2.2 billion worth of weapons from a shady network of private dealers to allied partners in Syria - mostly old Soviet weaponry - but is actually manipulating paperwork such as end-user certificates, presumably in order to hide US involvement.
